Livelihood Improvement
Al-Khair Foundation is working to improve the quality of life for marginalized people through various initiatives:
- Orphan and Hafiz Sponsorship: This project aims to provide equal opportunities for orphaned children to grow up just like other children. It also includes poor children engaged in memorizing the Holy Quran. The foundation ensures food, educational materials, healthcare, clothing, and other essential needs for orphaned and hafiz children aged 6 to 14. In 2022, 2023, and 2024, a total of 2,345 orphaned children received support through this program. The project is ongoing in Sylhet, Cox's Bazar, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajbari, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Patuakhali, Barguna, Satkhira, Bogura, Feni, Barishal, and Bhola.
- Blind Hafiz Support: In 2023, Al-Khair Foundation launched a separate support program for blind hafiz students. The program ensures educational materials, food, and financial incentives for blind hafiz students. In 2023 and 2024, 100 blind hafiz students in Dhaka and Cox's Bazar received assistance through this program.
- Wheelchair Distribution: To reduce mobility barriers for the disabled, the foundation distributed 200 wheelchairs in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
- Sewing Machine Distribution: The foundation distributed 200 sewing machines in 2022, 2023, and 2024 to rural, illiterate, or semi-literate women to enable them to become economically self-sufficient.
